Terry Wogan, in his weekly piece for the Sunday Telegraph, muses on Green Taxes this week. You might have noticed that this is something I’ve been writing more than enough about over the week. Wogan takes his own, distinctive view: How come Stern can tell what’s going to happen in 10 to 50 years’ time, when meteorologists can’t be sure what the weather will be like tomorrow?” The guy has a point. He adds “Tax, of course, is the answer if we are to survive”, but suggests in the meantime that we might want to breath less frequently to reduce carbon emissions, and for maximum effectiveness we could stop all together. Oops, shouldn’t have said that, hope I haven’t given Gordon Brown any ideas for a new stealth tax. Although, as Wogan points out, this would leave the Government’s plan to get us all fitter in a bit of a quandary.
